Stellar
Technologies Certified Supplier Program is designed to save our customers the
cost of redundantly inspecting, cleaning, and packaging components.
By providing
customers the necessary data to objectively evaluate Stellar Technologies performance,
the program will give customers the secure confidence in knowing that Stellar
Technologies is delivering products that are appropriately prepared and packaged
for immediate use at the point of manufacturing.
The
program consists of the following components:
Joint
Criteria Development
Stellar technologies works both internally and in concert with the customer to
develop criteria for certifying the production, preparation, and packaging of
a particular component. The criteria developed with the customer include:
- Correlation
of inspection methods
- Identification
of performance statistics to verify correlation
- Establishment
of a predetermined qualification performance level
- Establishment
of a predetermined minimum statistical performance level
- Development
of cleaning and packaging requirements necessary for use on delivery
|
Manufacturing-Process
Certification
This process occurs in two stages:
- Process
Validation: Statistical analysis is used to predict whether the manufacturing
processes and equipment will produce a component to print every time. A process
is said to be validated when all dimensions being produced are predicted to maintain
a cpk level of 1.3 or higher.
- Process
Certification: The prediction that results from the validation process is then
confirmed, or certified,” under actual operating conditions. A specific piece
of equipment, operating in production, is monitored for a predetermined time interval
to see if it in fact consistently performs at a cpk level of 1.3 or higher.

Operator
Certification
A certified process must be performed by a certified operator. To achieve this
status, a Stellar Technologies machinist must pass a rigorous qualification process
which includes successfully completing specific educational requirements and certified
training.
